On April 5, 2012, President Obama signed the Jumpstart Our Business Startup Act, commonly referred to as the JOBS Act, into law. The JOBS Act was designed to ease the capital raising process for smaller and start up companies. Additionally it attempted to correct or update several provisions of other older securities regulations.
